Proteinase K是一种枯草蛋白酶类的高活性蛋白酶，用于生物样品中蛋白质的一般降解。从林伯氏白色念球菌 (tritirachium album limber) 中纯化得到，是以丝氨酸为活性中心的蛋白分解酶，分解蛋白质的活性较强。具有广泛的底物特异性，特别优先分解与疏水氨基酸，含硫氨基酸，芳香族氨基酸的C末端邻接的酯键和肽键。本品在Ca2+盐的溶液中活性稳定，并且在SDS或尿素等蛋白质变性剂存在下活性升高。
