GelStain是一种灵敏、稳定和相对安全的荧光核酸染色试剂。它可以替代高毒性染色剂-溴化乙锭(EB),用于琼脂糖凝胶或聚丙烯酰胺凝胶中dsDNA、ssDNA和RNA的染色。GelStain的灵敏度远高于EB,并且不需要脱色。GelStain和EB有相同的光谱特性。

特点:

• 无毒性:GelStain独特的油性和大分子特点使其不能穿透细胞膜进入细胞内,艾姆斯氏实验结果也表明,该染料的诱变性远远小于EB。
• 灵敏度高:适用于不同大小的片段电泳染色,对核酸迁移率的影响小于SYBR Green I。
• 稳定性高:适用于使用微波或其它加热方法制备琼脂糖凝胶;室温下在酸性、碱性环境下极其稳定,耐光性强。
• 信噪比高:样品荧光信号强,背景信号低。
• 操作简单:与EB一样,在预制胶和电泳过程中染料不降解;而电泳后染色过程也只需30分钟且无需脱色或冲洗,即可直接用紫外凝胶透射仪观察。
• 适用范围广:可选择电泳前染色(胶染法)或电泳后染色(泡染法);适用于琼脂糖凝胶或聚丙烯酰胺凝胶电泳;可用于dsDNA、ssDNA或RNA染色。
• 无需改变滤光片及观察装置:标准的EB滤光片或SYBR滤光片都适用,使用与观察EB染色相同的普通紫外凝胶透射仪观察即可,在300 nm紫外光附近可得到最佳激发。
