本试剂盒采用酶解法裂解细胞，利用硅胶膜离心柱特异地吸附DNA，适用于从多种材料(动物细胞、动物组织、鼠尾、大肠杆菌、酵母)中高效地提取基因组DNA。提取的DNA适用于酶切、PCR、Southern Blot等实验。
